Good skin is a reflection of a good digestive system.If your body is successfully able to eliminate waste products and toxins from your body you will naturally have a clear glowing skin. Here are some of the simple tips to improve your digestion, preventing constipation and improving your bodies ability to flush all toxins out:

Water: Drink plenty of water. Water hydrates the body, flushes impurities form the body and gives you a clear and glowing complexion.

Fiber: Adding enough fiber to your diet helps improve digestion and eliminating toxins.
Daily fiber recommendation:
  • Men (<50>
  • Men (>50 years) - 30 grams/day
  • Women (<50>
  • Women (>50 years) - 21 grams/day

Here are some suggestions to add fiber to your diet:

  1. Add whole grains to your diet.
  2. Add beans and legumes.
  3. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
  4. Eat wheat/oat bran to your breakfast.
  5. Add 2 tbs of ground flax seed to your diet.
  6. Snack on pop corns.
  7. Add high fiber fruits like prunes.

Easy Home Remedies for Acne

Acne is one of the most common skin problem for most teenagers and even some adults. Here are some simple and easy natural remedies which can be easily done at home.

Drink lot of Water
First and foremost thing to do is to drink lots of water. Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water a day.
This is apart from the water you drink when you are excising.

Get your Cardio Going
Exercise regularly. Some form of aerobic exercise will bring oxygen to your cells and give you a healthy skin.

Cleanse
Keep your skin always clean by washing with very mild soap and lukewarm water.


Keep your hands off
Do not try to prick and peel the acne as this can leave permanent marks on the face.

Foods to watch
Avoid eating fried food, refined sugar, refined carbs and other processed foods.

Digestion
If you have constipation problems treat it immediately. This is one of the main causes of acne.
Try adding some ground flax seed to your breakfast. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and other forms of fiber like from Whole grains.

Some home made remedies for acne from your kitchen:

  • Apply a mixture of Honey and Lemon juice on the face and other affected area. Wash off after 30 minutes
  • Take some mint juice and mix it with turmeric powder and apply on affected area. Leave for half an hour and wash off
  • Mix sandalwood paste with rose water and apply on the face. Rinse off after it dries completely.
  • Take a pinch of ground nutmeg and mix it with milk to form a paste. Apply on affected area overnight and wash off in the morning.
  • Grind some oatmeal and mix it with milk to form a thick paste. Apply this on face and use it as a scrub by gently rubbing in circular motion. Do this twice a week to remove excess oil and dirt from the face. This is an excellent scrub for oily skin.
